Color Retouching
Whatever your color retouching needs are, pixelslam can take care of them for you. From pushing the boundaries on great originals to overhauling and rejuvenating questionable imagery, we strive to make your printed piece the best it can be! It's truly amazing the effect a few hours at pixelslam can have on a batch of stock photos or digital images.
From custom color conversions to sharpness and contrast, from tonal range concerns to saturation issues, considerations like maximum dot percentage, dot gain and paper choice. These are just some of the factors we consider on every project we accept.
Here at the studio our color experts have over twenty years of experience in the commercial printing business, and we have worked in the digital pre-press world since it all began.

Color Management
Lets face it, color is our passion! At pixelslam we support a complete ICC color workflow. All of our devices, including scanner, monitors and proofing apparatus, are calibrated and profiled using the latest hardware and software.
Custom color profiling services are available to our clients. We can fingerprint and build a custom ICC profile to match a specific press or a printer’s in-house proofing system for consistent results throughout your project. From a project-management standpoint this can be especially helpful in seeing accurate contract proofs at a local level while the finished piece is printed out-of-state or even abroad. We have used this process successfully with printers throughout North America, Europe and China. 

Proofing
We are equipped to provide the most demanding design and print professionals with the most accurate and stable color proofs. Pixelslam proofs are SWOP, GRACoL and Pantone-certified. Using the latest XRite and Monaco products, each proof is individually certified using Epson Print Certification. This ensures stability and more importantly predictability. This way you can be sure of great results on press! Our proofers incorporate Epson’s new UltraChrome K3 ink technology combined with their new eight-color high-density pigmented ink system. We offer a wide variety of contract grade stocks to suit your proofing needs.

High-Resolution Scanning
At pixelslam we use the new Creo IQ smart 3 flatbed scanner. This scanner allows us to achieve high-resolution scans directly from positive or negative film, flat artwork, photographs and prints up to 11 x 17 inches. Unlike the drum- type scanners the flatbed also eliminates the need to mount, bend or tape originals, thus eliminating the risk of damage. If your original does not fit our maximum size we may be able to scan it in pieces and then digitally stitch it together. Please call us to discuss our capabilities.
Our scanner incorporates Creo XY stitch technology. What does that mean? It means an optical output resolution of 2700 dpi resulting in "drum-quality" scans.
