PROJECT OVERVIEW
We rebuilt the Belmont Lumos website to better support decision-making, storytelling, and discovery for prospective travelers, current travelers, and advisors. Stakeholder feedback showed that while the program itself is compelling, the previous site made it difficult to clearly understand the application process, find relevant stories, and engage with content—especially on mobile. In response, we took a mobile-first approach during wireframing and design to ensure the experience works seamlessly where students are most active. We clarified key program details and timelines, elevated benefits and requirements, and redesigned traveler profiles and stories to be easier to browse and filter. Using Gutenberg, we empowered travelers with more flexible, intuitive tools to create posts and share their journeys, and implemented faceted search and an interactive map with WP Grid Builder so visitors can quickly find stories that align with their interests. Together, these improvements help prospective travelers self-identify as strong candidates, get inspired by real experiences, and feel confident taking the next step to apply.
